One More To the Babe

Tonight, the Great Home Run Chase of '06 continues, as Barry will start against the Chicago Cubs, one home run behind the Babe. Oh, and the Giants try and climb out of the last-place hole they've dug themselves into, but nevermind that. Barry put himself one away with a monstorous, humongous, epic shot last Sunday night in Philly that still has people buzzing. In typical Barry fashion, after launching the home run and actually talking to the press, he blew all of that good press by refusing to sign the home run ball a fan caught. Barry's Big Lawsuit Blocked

A judge just denied the lawsuit filed against the authors and publishers of the Barry Bonds' bombshell book, "Game of Shadows," citing freedom of speech issues. Bonds' lawyers had sued the publishers because it was "unfair" that the authors were able to use secret transcripts from the Grand Jury. In other words, the lawsuit wasn't to help Barry's reputation, but to help all the other muckrakers out there trying to bust Barry who didn't have the luxury of leaked testimony. Barry's Bum Knees

If Giants fans are looking a little more nervous these days than they already were, it’s because it was reported today that on Monday, Barry Bonds went in for his second knee surgery of the off-season. The first one, on his left knee, was right at the end of last season; this one was on his right knee. Both were for "minor arthritis cleanup" and to repair a small cartilage tear. Ouch! more ›
