Girl Scouts Plowed

While a gaggle of Girl Scouts were selling cookies in Burlingame on Sunday afternoon -- is it that time of year again already? -- a vehicle accidentally struck them and a few other people, according to police. The collision happened on Chapin Avenue after a 58-year-old man was trying parking his car, accidentally stepping on the gas rather than the brake. He wasn't charged with a crime. According to reports, "[f]ive people were taken to a hospital" and "[a]n 8-year-old girl and her mother are in serious condition at Stanford Medical Center with leg injuries." NBC11's Web site is telling of the Postal Inspector's testimony that Mr. Jew only received third-class mail at his Sunset residence!
