A man died in an apparent suicide on the train tracks in Burlingame this afternoon. SFGate reports: "The northbound train hit the man on the right-of-way at Peninsula Avenue shortly before 12:20 p.m.," which resulted in a 90-minute delay.

According to SFist Jonathan, "My train is stopped in Burlingame @ 6:20 pm -- the conductor says the train is being held here due to a bomb threat at Millbrae."
Girl Scouts Plowed
While a gaggle of Girl Scouts were selling cookies in Burlingame on Sunday afternoon -- is it that time of year again already? -- a vehicle accidentally struck them and a few other people, according to police. The collision happened on Chapin Avenue after a 58-year-old man was trying parking his car, accidentally stepping on the gas rather than the brake. He wasn't charged with a crime. According to reports, "[f]ive people were taken to a hospital" and "[a]n 8-year-old girl and her mother are in serious condition at Stanford Medical Center with leg injuries." No other injures were reported.
Oh No Ed Jew! Please, Please Mr. Postman
Still not a lot of info on Ed Jew's prelim court proceedings, but there is a new tidbit, a small glimpse behind the Tapioca Curtain. NBC11's Web site is telling of the Postal Inspector's testimony that Mr. Jew only received third-class mail at his Sunset residence! His Burlingame estate, on the other hand, was subject to both first-class and third-class deliveries.
