It's Got to Be the Morning After
-Warriors get beat down by the Clips, 103-90. Considering the Clippers are one of the teams that the Warriors need to pass in order to make the playoffs, that's a bad loss.
It's Got to Be the Morning After
-Both Brady Quinn and JaMarcus Russell are hanging at the NFL Combine, something that will make Raiders fans perk up their ears. We don't know what's more overrated, the Combine or Brady Quinn. Anyways, it appears that JaMarcus is b-i-g. But is that a good thing or a bad thing?
It's Got to Be the Morning After
-The Sharkies lost to the Dallas Stars, 4-3. It's the second consecutive loss against the Stars this week and who does the NHL scheduling anyways? It's also the Sharks third consecutive home loss. Their main culprit? Lousy power plays. So, does all this mean the Sharks need to bring in some more veteran guys?
Bueller? Bueller? Sabaen?
Yesterday it was announced that this year's big free agent catch, Alfonso Soriano, signed a whopping long deal with the Chicago Cubs, for eight years. It was also announced that Nomah is staying with the Dodgers where he'll be joined by the highly sought after Juan Pierre. Which begs the question what the hell are the Giants going to do?
Robb Retires
Making official what was probably obvious for the past two years, Giants relief ace Robb Nen quietly retired over the weekend. Nen played a huge part in recent Giants history, in pitching against them, pitching for them, and even in not being able to pitch for them at all. He played a role in some of the biggest Giant moments of the past several years, including giving up the home run to Neifi Perez (Neifi Perez!) that sunk the Giants in '98 and being the last pitcher to throw more gas onto the fire that was the Angels' Game 6 rally.
Barry's Bum Knees
If Giants fans are looking a little more nervous these days than they already were, it’s because it was reported today that on Monday, Barry Bonds went in for his second knee surgery of the off-season. The first one, on his left knee, was right at the end of last season; this one was on his right knee. Both were for "minor arthritis cleanup" and to repair a small cartilage tear. Ouch!
