The alleged rapist was about <strong>22 years old with a "light complexion," weighs about 160 pounds and almost 5 feet 10 inches tall. The suspect has a tree tattoo on his left forearm and was wearing a gray button down shirt with a blue hat at the time of the rape.</strong> The victim reportedly knew her attacker. <p><strong>Silver Terrace / Shooting:</strong> A 45-year-old man was shot in the face and mugged at around 2 a.m. on Sunday morning near Third and Palou. The victim was taken to the hospital and is expected to survive. He was able to pick a suspect, 57-year-old Charles Sullivan of San Francisco, out of a photo lineup. Sullivan has been booked on suspicion of attempted murder, robbery, being a felon in possession of a firearm and other gun-related counts, police said. <p><strong>Nob Hill / Murder:</strong> A 65-year-old man was found dead in his Nob Hill apartment on Friday, and police say there were "obvious signs of trauma" on his body. Few details have been released so far, and the victim's name is being held until the family is notified. The police were called to do a welfare check on the victim. Neighbors at a nearby apartment complex reported hearing several shots. </p>

<p><a href="http://www.mercurynews.com/breaking-news/ci_16728415?nclick_check=1">As of this morning</a>, no arrests have been made, and few details about the shooting have been released. Police are currently reviewing footage from the apartment complex surveillance camera, which was captured during the shooting. </p>

<p><strong>Saturday / Lower Haight:</strong> Police were involved in a <a href="http://sfappeal.com/news/2010/11/following-a-car-chase-officers.php">car chase</a> that began at 15th and Mission Streets and ended at Page and Laguna, resulting in the arrest of the driver, who is believed to be connected to someone who escaped custody at the Turk and Fillmore police station on Friday. The passenger in the chase fled on foot.</p>

<p><strong>Sunday / Pacific Heights:</strong> <a href="http://sfappeal.com/news/2010/11/man-shot-multiple-times-in-pacific-heights.php">A drive-by shooting</a> occurred at 2 a.m. near Van Ness Avenue and Clay Street on Sunday morning, sending three people to the hospital. None of the wounds are expected to be life threatening. The suspects had reportedly been following the victims on Van Ness, then pulled up alongside them, firing five to seven shots. The vehicle drove off east on Clay Street. <p><strong>8/31, <s>CASTRO</s> GLEN PARK:</strong> A female walking south on Castro Street (near Sussex) was accosted by a 20- to 30-year-old black man who grabbed her purse from behind, pulled her sweater over her head, and swiped her cell phone. The incident happened at around 8:30 a.m. The suspect took off north on Castro. No arrests.</p>

<p><strong>8/31, LOWER NOB HILL:</strong> A woman came home to notice her laptop and charger missing after leaving her apartment door unlocked. This happened on the 600 block of Sutter. According to police, a roommate was in the apartment sleeping and "awoke to see the suspects in the victim’s room." The suspects are described simply as a white man and Hispanic man somewhere in their 20s. Luckily, the thieves fled without causing harm. Scary. No arrests.</p>

<p><strong>8/31, MARKET/GOUGH:</strong> At around 11 p.m.-ish, a lady was walking westbound on Market Street when a twentysomething black man approached her from behind and yanked off her purse. The hooligan fled the scene towards Otis Street. <p><strong>Stabbing/Robbery:</strong>  In Golden Gate Park near <a href="http://bit.ly/9kAyUX">Bowling Green Drive and Middle Drive</a> a 30-year-old male was walking when he was approached by a 30-year-old white female from behind.  The suspect, according to SFPD, was "stabbed the victim in the back two times." The victim, who suffered non-life-threatening reports his backpack was then stolen by the suspect. No arrests have been made. </p>

<p><strong>Stabbing:</strong> Over at <a href="http://bit.ly/cdYlOO">Jones and Post</a>, a 21-year-old man was "found on the ground with a stab [wound] to the left arm and left upper leg area," reports SFPD. The victim was "intoxicated and could not remember what happened except for being in a fight" beforehand with two white twentysomething females. He was treated for his non-life threatening injuries. No arrest have been made.</p>

<p><strong>Aggravated Assault:</strong> On the <a href="http://bit.ly/a76NMz">200 block of 13th Street</a>, an man in his 40s was "struck in the head with a wooden board" by a suspect, and then "punched and kicked repeatedly" by another suspect. The victim was transported to SF General with non-life-threatening injuries. <p><strong>Richmond/Bank Robbery:</strong> Over on the 3700 block of Balboa Ave on Monday afternoon, an unidentified female walked into a bank, sauntered up to the teller, pulled out a gun and demanded money. The teller handed over some cash and the woman fled. No arrested have been made. [SFPD]</p>

<p><strong>Laurel Village/Pot Bust:</strong> A home at 3306 California Street was raided for marijuana growth. Police seized <s>100</s> 222 pot plants. Two men were arrested. [<a href="http://sfappeal.com/alley/2010/07/sfpd-raids-laurel-heights-marijuana-grow-house.php">SF Appeal</a>]</p>

<p><strong>Bayview/Shooting:</strong> On the 1400 block of Palou Avenue, a 36-year-old man was hit by a stray bullet from gunfire between two passing cars. The victim was transported to the hospital where he was treated for a non-life threatening gunshot wound to the lower part of the body. Both vehicles fled the scene. No arrests have been made. <p><strong>SoMa/Stabbing:</strong> Following a verbal altercation, a 33-year-old man was stabbed on the 400 block of Minna early this morning. The victim was transported to the hospital. He is expected to survive. No arrests have been made. Policed say, "The suspect goes to the victim’s room, kicks open the door, and takes a television." After a roommate noticed the creep, the suspect fled in an unknown direction. <p><strong>Hayes Valley/Stabbing</strong>:  Near the the intersection of <a href="http://bit.ly/cBVinO">Fell and Laguna</a> this morning, a 28-year-old man stabbed an 18-year-old man with a knife in front of several bystanders. After a nearby security guard witnessed the attack, police tell us he struck the suspect in the hand, causing the suspect to drop the knife and flee the scene. The victim, who suffered non-life-threatening injuries, was whisked away to San Francisco General Hospital.  No word yet on the motive. No arrests have been made.</p>

<p><strong>Mission/Mugging</strong>: Over on the <a href="http://bit.ly/dCb1JE">2000 block of Mission Street</a>, according to SFPD, two white females (ages 20-22) approached a 20-year-old Hispanic male and demanded money. One of the suspects "held a knife to the victim," which prompted a struggle and a cut to the victim's left hand. The suspects swiped his stuff and fled. <p><strong>Haight/Assault</strong>: Egads, how gruesome. Early Sunday morning around 2:30 a.m.-ish, an assault occurred near the intersection of <a href="http://bit.ly/cfDe3M">Waller and Webster</a>. William Valentine, 42, was arrested for attacking someone he allegedly knew. According to BCN (via <a href="http://cbs5.com/local/violence.crime.suspect.2.1762142.html">CBS 5</a>), here's how it went down:</p>

<blockquote>Shortly before 2:30 a.m., 42-year-old William Valentine, of San Francisco, attempted to run over the victim while driving a vehicle in the area of Webster and Waller streets, Lt. Lyn Tomioka said.

<p>Valentine then crashed the car into a pole, exited the vehicle, and beat the victim on the head and body with a bat, she said.</p>
</blockquote>  

<p>Valentine was <a href="http://www.haighteration.com/2010/06/overnight-violence-at-webster-and.html">arrested</a> and charged him with "attempted murder, mayhem, and assault with a deadly weapon.</p>

<p><strong>Daly City/Murder</strong>: Responding to reports of gunfire early this morning, police found the body of an unidentified male on the <a href="http://bit.ly/b8WTeK">6200 block of Mission Street</a>. The <a href="http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/c/a/2010/06/21/BANR1E2H4H.DTL&amp;tsp=1">Chronicle</a> reports, "Witnesses reported seeing two people running from the area after the shooting, which happened near the Daly City-San Francisco border." No arrests have been made.</p>

<p><em>Update</em>: <a href="http://www.ktvu.com/news/23977365/detail.html">KTVU</a> reports that the victim, 26-year-old Alexander Temaj Castanon, was shot as he was getting off a Muni bus on his way home from work. <p><strong>Mission/Carjacking</strong>:  Last night at <a href="http://bit.ly/aVUA8j">21st and Folsom</a>, a 53-year-old man was sitting in his parked vehicle when a suspect, believed to be in his 30s, yanked the victim out of his vehicle, tossed him to the ground, and stole his car.  According to SFPD, the victim noticed a handgun in the suspect’s possession before he fled the scene in the poor guy’s vehicle. No arrests have been made.</p>

<p><strong>Ingleside/Robbery</strong>: At Geneva and Pasadena on Wednesday, a 27-year-old Asian man was attacked with a "caustic chemical" by three suspects (three black men in their 20s). According to police, "Two suspects held onto the victim while the third suspect sprayed the victim in the eyes with caustic chemical. The two victims were rushed to SF General hospital. "The injured boy was undergoing surgery and his condition was not known." Witnesses say that the shooter, sporting a black hoodie and jeans, "was a male who was accompanied by as many as eight other people."</p>

No arrests have been made. <p><strong>BERKELEY-OAKLAND/SATURDAY</strong>: Three people died after a murder and car chase through the East Bay Saturday night. "It all started at 6:35 p.m. when Berkeley Police responded to reports of gunfire near Allston Way and 10th Street in West Berkeley," <a href="http://cbs5.com/crime/berkeley.oakland.deaths.2.1011594.html">according to reports</a>, where offices found an unidentified male suffering from 10 gunshot wounds. He later died. Police then chased the kmurder suspects up to North Oakland, where the they crashed their Cadillac "into two other vehicles at the corner of Aileen Street and Martin Luther King Jr. Way -- killing two innocent bystanders, one in a car, and one who was walking down the sidewalk." A 26-year-old Sunnyvale man, whose Mazda got caught up in the crash, died as well.</p>

<p>The driver of the Cadillac, a 22-year-old San Leandro man, and "another suspect" were taken into custody. </p>

<p><strong>HUNTER'S POINT/SUNDAY</strong>: Police are looking for a the suspect who "shot a male victim <a href="http://cbs5.com/local/shooting.bayview.hunters.2.1011324.html">multiple times</a> in the city's Bayview-Hunters Point District in broad daylight Saturday morning." The victim was sent to SF General. His condition is not yet known.</p>

<p><strong>EXCELSIOR/FRIDAY</strong>: An unidentified 19-year-old man was shot by SFPD officers during <a href="http://cbs5.com/local/mission.district.shooting.2.1011196.html">a shootout at Beacon gas station</a>. It seems the shooting victim was allegedly involved in two other shootings in the 5000 block of Mission Street earlier that night. Occuring a little before midnight, SFPD Sgt. <p><strong>OAKLAND/SATURDAY</strong>: Speaking of increasing crime, Da'shun Cooper, 41,of <a href="http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/c/a/2008/12/29/MNH114UUC3.DTL&amp;hw=dellums&amp;sn=001&amp;sc=1000">Oakland</a> died on Saturday night after <a href="http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/c/a/2008/12/29/BA1V150BK9.DTL&amp;tsp=1">taking a shot to the back</a> at 83rd Avenue and B Street in Oakland's Elmhurst neighborhood. No arrests have been made. </p>
