Hate Group Tricks Californians Into Signing SB 48 Petition

An anti-gay group in California have deceived citizens into thinking they are signing a petition to help stop child molestation and give stronger sentences for molesters. This, sadly, is not the case. "In fact, they are signing a petition to repeal SB 48, the state's just-approved LGBT education bill," reports Joe My God. SB 48 would allow classrooms to teach the contribution and history of gays (as well as disabled people) in the state of California. The misguided anti-gay effort is part of Stopsb48.com. Two years after the New York State Senate strongly rejected gay marriage, New York Governor Andrew M. Cuomo announced passage of the Marriage Equality Act today by a margin of 33 to 29, granting same-sex couples the freedom to marry under the law. New York is the sixth and largest state to approve gay marriage, effectively doubling the number of Americans living in states with the freedom to marry. more ›

The San Francisco Public Utilities Commission surprise-attacked the city with a new plan to"increase water and sewer rates for both residential and commercial customers at its meeting Tuesday," according to reports. The reason? Seismic upgrades. Apparently it will cost the city of San Francisco $4.4 billion to make sure your poop, pee, and drinking water don't mix when the big one hits.
