We were really sad we didn't make it to the Bring Your Own Big Wheel event this Saturday as it sounded like a lot of fun. Things like this are one of the reasons why we love this city, the fact that a whole bunch of people would get together to do something completely silly just for the sake of being completely silly. We did a little Flickr searching and found this excellent picture of the Bring Your Own Big Wheel race down the curvy part of Lombard Street yesterday by kwajkid. There's some more pictures here and here, and we're sure if you keep looking through the tags "Lombard" or "BYOBW," you'll find others too. This is the sixth annual Bring Your Own Big Wheels race down Lombard and seventeen Big Wheels riders made their way down the brick path yesterday. With the street slick from rain, the Chron reported a number of wipeouts, but Steve Aston, resplendant on a purple bike, took the championship. Check out the Chron's pictures too.
