Kick those schlumpy tryptophan and Monday induced sighs and blahs to the curb and check out Bacon Press’s Food Porn. We can’t much bear thoughts and photos of turkey, but the tantalizing pics of vibrant veggies and wholesome soup are pleasing. Barely a trace of heartburn there, family and friends-who-are-like-family (we’re trying to be a bright and happy holiday trooper here). Such healthful dishes may soothe and perhaps allow us to ease into our ill barely fitting Levi’s sooner rather than later. After zipping up, we’d never call the authorities from learning about food related theft in another newish Bacon Press Post so appropriately named: Steal this Brie.

">Bay Area's Top 100 Restaurants a little moot, but our plucky Chron is soldiering on, ramping up its food coverage. Bay Area Bites has some insight into the Chron's list, Confessions of a Restaurant Whore considers the list in relation to the Michelin Guide and Bacon Press casts his porcine eye to the future and speculates on who Michelin will love or snub. Meanwhile, Ellen is just looking for a little love from Diablo magazine.

A week of rain brings out the best in travel and food bloggers -- why not beat the weather and take a trip or stay indoors to cook something nice? Ginevra Kirkland leverages the internets to take a vacation to Hawaii without leaving her desk, while Bay Area Bites looks to foodie blogs for culinary inspiration. Bacon Press takes in the almond blossom season in the Central Valley. Still, nothing better to chase the dreary weather blues away like a burrito.

Hey, remember when SFist Rita asked for Manuel Jiminez' thoughts regarding The Daly's call for Bush's impeachment at the Board of Supervisors? Well, Manuel went and responded! There's nothing that SFist loves more than people actually paying attention. Left in SF notes that the work at Bernal Park starts tomorrow (and links to a Bernal neighborhood blog we hadn't seen before). Josh Wolf heads to a the federal building for a grand jury appearance in vain. And if you thought the Dykes on Bikes trademark case was over, think again.

Summertime of Poverty pens a lyrical reflection on the modern world, but the title says it all. On that note, Ron Gonzalez gives a final state-of-San Jose speech, and San Jose Inside readers take the opportunity to lament his tenure. Up north, Michelle Slatalla plays with new real estate tool Zillow, but while intrigued, is not impressed by the inaccurate data.
Wanna Be a Pundit?
We received a nice note from Wendy over at KQED's Bay Area Bites Blog who tipped us off about the following opportunity:
Deliver Us From Yet Another Burrito
You know we love San Francisco. You should also know that we hate the fact that nobody f**king delivers (coming soon to an SFist Rant near you). So when we heard about a new service that delivers gourmet food to your door, we got excited. But, of course, there's a catch.
