Kick those schlumpy tryptophan and Monday induced sighs and blahs to the curb and check out Bacon Press’s Food Porn. We can’t much bear thoughts and photos of turkey, but the tantalizing pics of vibrant veggies and wholesome soup are pleasing. Barely a trace of heartburn there, family and friends-who-are-like-family (we’re trying to be a bright and happy holiday trooper here). Such healthful dishes may soothe and perhaps allow us to ease into our ill barely fitting Levi’s sooner rather than later. After zipping up, we’d never call the authorities from learning about food related theft in another newish Bacon Press Post so appropriately named: Steal this Brie. ...

We swore we were done with Easter. We weren't going to mention it at all this week. We felt we'd used up our allotted portion of bandwidth on it, and that it was all played out. No more. And then. And then. This. We may be world-weary, we may be agnostic, but whatever we are we were jaw-droppingly amazed by Meathenge's Easter idea. We don't want to spoil it for you, so just go,......

In the excellent William Gibson novel Pattern Recognition, the main character has a panic attack every time she is confronted with the image of Bibendum, the Michelin Man. we don't really blame her, the early pics of him were pretty, well, not pretty. In that vein, we can only imagine the plotzing that's going on in some of the Bay Area's finest kitchens following the announcement that the revered Michelin Guide has chosen to focus......

A week of rain brings out the best in travel and food bloggers -- why not beat the weather and take a trip or stay indoors to cook something nice? Ginevra Kirkland leverages the internets to take a vacation to Hawaii without leaving her desk, while Bay Area Bites looks to foodie blogs for culinary inspiration. Bacon Press takes in the almond blossom season in the Central Valley. Still, nothing better to chase the......

Hey, remember when SFist Rita asked for Manuel Jiminez' thoughts regarding The Daly's call for Bush's impeachment at the Board of Supervisors? Well, Manuel went and responded! There's nothing that SFist loves more than people actually paying attention. Left in SF notes that the work at Bernal Park starts tomorrow (and links to a Bernal neighborhood blog we hadn't seen before). Josh Wolf heads to a the federal building for a grand jury appearance......

Summertime of Poverty pens a lyrical reflection on the modern world, but the title says it all. On that note, Ron Gonzalez gives a final state-of-San Jose speech, and San Jose Inside readers take the opportunity to lament his tenure. Up north, Michelle Slatalla plays with new real estate tool Zillow, but while intrigued, is not impressed by the inaccurate data. Kim Knox at Left in SF goes over the details of Arlene Ackerman's......

We received a nice note from Wendy over at KQED's Bay Area Bites Blog who tipped us off about the following opportunity: A heads up for all you local foodies out there...KQED is about to begin production on a new reality TV program called "Check Please, Bay Area!" Based on a show out of Chicago, it's a weekly restaurant review series in which Bay Area residents discuss their dining experiences in a TV roundtable.......

You know we love San Francisco. You should also know that we hate the fact that nobody f**king delivers (coming soon to an SFist Rant near you). So when we heard about a new service that delivers gourmet food to your door, we got excited. But, of course, there's a catch. You have to cook it yourself. That's right, via Contraversion, we first heard about Besos Foods. They do all the shopping (primarily from......
