It's Got to Be the Morning After
At around 3 o'clock or so on Sunday, Palo Alto gave a huge sigh of relief as the Cardinal made it into the Big Dance, being seeded 11th in the South Regional. Their first game is against the sixth seed, Louisville (23-9). No time has been set, but the game will be on Wednesday.

-Stanford beating ASU has them thinking Big Dance. After a loss to Arizona, Cal is thinking NIT.

-Let's get the Barry news (that being Barry B.) out of the way first. Essentially, George Mitchell, the guy supposed to look into the whole steroid thing, told everyone he wants Barry to cooperate. Barry told him to go suck an egg. Well, not really, but he basically said that he can't while he's still under investigation for perjury. You know, we think if there's any good thing to come out of being under investigation, it's that you don't have to answer anything. Did you accidentally delete "Grey's Anatomy" off of TiVo? Can't comment on that because it might interfere with the investigation. Did you steal my turkey on swiss from the office fridge? Can't comment on that due to the pending investigation. See what we mean?
It's Got to Be the Morning After
-The Warriors get a big lead, lose a big lead, then regain a big lead as they beat the NY Knicks. Tim Kawakami thinks the Warriors need to tank the season by giving Patrick O’Bryant some playing time.
it's Got to Be the Morning After
-The Warriors beat the SuperSonics at the Oracle, 108-104 as the Warriors fended off a rampaging Ray Allen. Don Nelson really likes Kelenna Azubuike.
It's Got to Be the Morning After
-Barry Z meets the press while Barry B is still unsigned. Scott Ostler is looking forward to the Z and B show and actually, he has a point-- the Giants are now lead by two people who are about as different as different could be. Over in Oakland, Monte Pool says flaky Barry Z could be a perfect fit for flaky SF
The Other Barry
Okay, so the Giants did go out and sign Barry Zito, something we were kind of rooting for. So are we happy? Hmmm...we think the best words to describe it would be "ambivalent" and "not quite sure." We are hard to please.
It's Got to Be the Morning After
-Warriors lose to the Suns giving the Suns their 13th straight win. The Warriors missed their first thirteen shots to fall behind early and never recovered. It's the Warriors sixth consecutive road loss.
