For woefully explicable reasons, the fine folks at the San Francisco Google office yanked their brilliant lipsynch video set to Miley Cyrus' ode to a celebratory modern America -- which is, arguably, one of the best songs written in the history of girls. Otherwise, we'd post it here for you to enjoy. (And believe us, it is, if anything, enjoyable.)

On the recommendation of some friends, we headed over to the Buckshot last night. There were rumors of a metal-centric musical bent, shuffleboard, and ski-ball (yes!). All true. But what really got us was the bar menu. Corn dogs, pulled pork sliders, fried chicken, and...chicken-fried bacon.

And the current lead for Most Awesomest Costume tonight goes to this guy.

Holy crap, McCain was right about socialists / commies / "they" taking over the country!!!

No, not really.

This guy was simply Awesome.

We love Julia Child. We love that she asks us to boil bacon. We love her eight page instructions in Mastering The Art of French Cooking, Volume One on how to make a simple egg omelette. We love her staunch pro-butter stance. We love her height. We tend to love Child's recipes over Pepin's in Julia and Jacques Cooking at Home. And we sobbed the day she died (and just felt a lump in our throat after finishing the first half of this sentence.)
