A 49-year-old man attempting to lure police in to shooting him to death went on a rampage in his SoMa apartment building Tuesday night that ended in a brutal-looking punch-up from SFPD officers and accusations of police brutality. Rounding out the year in deplorable teen news, KRON4 reports that three underagers were busted for mugging a 36-year-old man while he took a leak in a North Beach alleyway. The victim, who had been talking to the three suspects before he felt the urge to relieve himself, ducked in to an alley near Fresno Street and Romolo Place where the teens jumped him while he stood there, back turned with his equipment out. more ›

A 63-year-old San Francisco woman is accused of attempted murder after bashing her 67-year-old husband on the head with a hammer at a downtown hotel early Saturday morning. The two senior citizens live elsewhere in the city, but had checked in to a hotel at Grant and Sutter streets. SFPD and members of Occupy SF butt heads Sunday night as authorities attempted to forcibly remove the Occupy encampment at Justin Herman Plaza starting around 10:30 p.m. According to ABC7, Police stood watch as DPW crews cleared the area. Protesters attempting to block a city garbage truck from hauling off their tents and belongings were dragged out of the way. Two cab drivers were part of a violent argument Friday night when one driver allegedly struck the other driver with a tire iron. The attack occurred in North Beach at around 9:30pm when one cab — driven by a man from Berkeley — took too long at a red light near Columbus and Pacific. The taxi behind him honked, and the Berkeley man proceeded to get out of his car and yell profanities at the driver behind him. Both of the men left their cabs and words quickly came to blows. But the brawl soon escalated when the Berkeley man retreated to his trunk and came back swinging at the other driver with a tire iron. more ›

On Saturday night, three white males described as being in their "mid-teens" attacked a 52-year-old Santa Barbara man with a baseball bat near Market and Sanchez in the Duboce Triangle. In the ongoing Bryan Stow story, new details about LAPD's two suspects Louie Sanchez and Marvin Norwood have emerged: According to documents released by the LA County DA's office, Sanchez allegedly took part in at least four other assaults on opening day in Chavez Ravine before initiating the violent attack on Bryan Stow and a group of his friends in a parking lot after the game.
