Seeing as how SFist urges you to spread the word about our Wednesday dog/cat pet adoptions, it's only fair we give fish a turn. Please meet Rosebug, a pink gourami living at Animal Connection (2550 Judah) in the Sunset, but not for much longer. See, she's grown so big that they don't have room for her anymore, and they're desperately trying to find a new home. She needs at least 100 gallons of tank..

Each Wednesday afternoon, SFist will feature an adoptable cat and dog from the SPCA. We beg you to give these guys a look. (And how could you not? They're downright adorable, not to mention very lonely.) However, if your landlord won't allow pets, or you have severe allergies, or just don't enjoy animal companionship, feel free to republish this on your preferred social networking medium of choice. Maybe you have a friend who would like a little furry friend? Animals, after all, are rad.

And remember: if you buy a cat or dog from a breeder, as opposed to adopting one from a shelter, you will spend eternity burning in the lower levels of Hell.

Thanks goes out to Laura Gretch for helping with this series.

I don't mean to toot my own horn, but I'm something pretty special....A few months ago, my owner passed away. I ended up here at Maddie's through The SF/SPCA's SIDO - a program that places enrolled pets immediately with the Adoption Center after their owners pass away. Although everything was new and a little scary, I was happy to be somewhere warm and safe, with loads of people to snuggle with and take me for walks. My sister came with me, and found a new home quickly - hooray for her! Truth be told, I'm a little lonely here without her...or really, without anyone to call my own. I've got my comfy bed, and my cuddly stuffy toys, and of course - all my favorite staff and volunteers that spend extra time with me....but you know best -nothing's better than a real live home to call my own.

Adopt A Cat Or Kitten For $30 In Sonoma Today

Hey, you! You with the hole in your heart and frown on your face. The Sonoma County Animal Shelter is offering over 150 bundles of feline joy (both cats and kittens, but the not-as-pupular-but-just-as-great adult cats really need homes) on sale today for $30 each. According to CBS 5, the precious fluff faces "may be purchased in Santa Rosa at the Sonoma County Animal Shelter, Western Farm Center or Animal Farm; in Windsor at B&G Pets; and in Rohnert Park at 49er Pets." And the cost covers leukemia testing, vaccinations, spray or neuter surgery, microchip, identification tag, and travel box, and years and years of sheer happiness. And for those of you <del>vile excuses for human beings</del> who insist on using a professional breeder for no discernible reason, this really is the best and cheapest way to do it. Adopt two or three today! (CBS 5)
