So the Chron has added yet another blog to their arsenal, the originally named Sports Columnist Blog. So with all these blogs going on, who's going to be left to, you know, actually write in the paper? -Sharkies now have won two in a row, beating the Chicago Blackhawks 2-0. Remember how their road trip was off to a miserable start? Not anymore. -Stanford rallies but can't beat USC. -Hey, there's a shiny, new free......

-And Stanford hires...Jim Harbaugh. Harbaugh was an NFL QB, most famously with the Bears and the Colts. and was the coach of the University of San Diego, not exactly a DIvision 1A team. His record there, though, was 29-6 with 27 wins in his last 29 games which isn’t too shabby. But is it a reach? Or a gamble? And is it the right gamble? ...

-49ers prepare for tonight's game and hope they do better with less practice. The Seahawks, however, are healthy. -Was Nolan's fourth-and-inches whimp out the turning point of the season? ...

Packers 30 49ers 19: In retrospect, this was an obvious game to foresee. The Packers were completely embarrassed the week before and their coach used to be a coach for the Niners. So what you got was a team looking take their frustrations out on another team, coached by someone who probably knows that team a little too well. Either way, the Niners have now lost three in a row after winning three in a row and that's been kind of how every team in the NFL is going this year. Regardless, the Niners giddy dreams of the playoffs are probably dead right now as this game shows the Niners aren't ready for Prime Time yet...

Saints 34 49ers 10- For 49ers fans, this was a tough loss. And not just because the 49ers came up lacking against their first really good team in awhile. It's tough because it also turned out to be the official Reggie Bush coming out party and for the rest of the week, Niners fans will have to watch in horror as clip after clip after clip of their defense giving it up to Reggie will be played. One should wonder why it is that every other team was capable of bottling the dude up but the Niners couldn't. ...

49ers 20 Seahawks 14-- Clang, clang, clang goes the 49ers bandwagon as this is the biggest win in franchise history in God who knows how long. Probably back when Mariucci was the coach and the playoffs were a semi-regular thing. They beat, we mean beat, not only the top team in the division but also last year's Superbowl losers. The Niners raced to a twenty point lead in the first half then basically held onto......

It was just announced that Aaron Brooks will be out for the next two-to-four weeks with a banged up pectoral muscle. This means your starting QB for the next few weeks will be Andrew Walter. Brooks strained the muscle while trying to recover his second straight fumbled snap in yesterday's game. We repeat, he strained a muscle while trying to recover HIS SECOND STRAIGHT FUMBLED SNAP OF THE GAME. ...

Chargers 27 Raiders 0- Well, that didn't go well. It went so well, in fact, Aaron Brooks got himself already benched and we had him making it halfway through the season before getting benched. Typical Raiders-- all the hype, all the energy, all the excitement that was created before this game (the tailgaiting started early Monday morning) and they totally laid an egg. In sort-of Prime Time. Even more revealing, everybody in the world knew the Chargers were going to run the ball and everybody knows they weren't going to let Phillip Rivers throw the ball and yet the Raiders gave up 131 yards to Tomlinson. The countdown to the Randy Moss explosion begins now. ...

Our favorite part of the beginning of any sports season is scanning through magazine after magazine for previews of our favorite teams. What will the experts say? Is our team as good as we think it is? As bad? Should we have hope or despair? And who kidnapped Peter King and replaced him with some skinny dude? So this year, as we approach NFL '06, we read through the experts to see what they have to say about our two local teams. This year, they all pretty much said the same thing about both of our local teams. In fact, we could sum it up in two words: last place....

The Rai-duhs got themselves a shiny new QB today, signing ex-Saints QB Aaron Brooks to a two year deal. The Silver & Black faithful are doing much rejoicing. Settle down, Raiders fans. This is not the QB you are looking for. Two years ago, Brooks killed us (killed us!) in fantasy football. See, we had a choice of either drafting him or Donovan McNabb. We took Brooks. McNabb went onto the Super Bowl and an MVP season. Brooks didn't. The Saints did not much of anything and our team, which we thought was maybe the best team we had ever drafted, barely made the playoffs. Settle down, Raiders fans. This is not the QB you are looking for. ...

Hey football fans, if you've ever dreamed of being an offensive coordinator start checking Craigslist-- the 49ers are about to lose their offensive coordinator Mike McCarthy as McCarthy is about to be named Head Coach of the Green Bay Favres. You might know McCarthy as the offensive coordinator for the 32nd ranked offense. ...
