Shots rang out in Golden Gate Park Thursday night, when a robber accosted two people as they left an event at an area museum.

According to the San Francisco Police Department, the mugging went down at 11:20 p.m. Thursday on Nancy Pelosi Drive, a short stretch of road that runs just south of the California Academy of Sciences and the de Young Museum.

Two people, a 49-year-old man and a 31-year-old woman "were leaving an event at the museum," police say, when a masked man who appeared to be around 20 years of age approached them.

As he did, he fired a shot into the air, police say, and demanded their property.

The victims handed over a box they were carrying, which held computer tablets, credit card readers, and US currency.

The suspect hopped into a nearby vehicle, police say, and fled west.

According to the SFPD, he remains at large as of Friday morning. As of publication time, no arrests had been made in the case.
