One of the Bay Area's newest In-N-Outs was the site of a scary fight last week, when a man threatened a fellow diner with a box cutter.

The scene of the crime was Daly City's newest In-N-Out, located at 372 Gellert Boulevard just up the street from the Serramonte Mall (a.k.a. the home of the area's best Target).

According to documents from the Daly City Planning Commission, it was February of 2016 when the fast food chain proposed to raze the Sizzler restaurant at that spot to construct yet another location of their popular restaurant. According to Yelp user Rodney H, the location opened on July 27 of this year, just 1.54 miles away from Daly City's other In-N-Out at 260 Washington Street (a.k.a. the one by Krispy Kreme).

And a bit more than a month after opening, we have our first report of crime at the new location: According to NBC Bay Area, on September 1 at around 11:30 a.m., "a man allegedly brandished a box cutter and threatened a victim" inside the restaurant.

The suspect, described by police as "a black man, 5 feet, 10 inches tall, with dreadlocks and a scar on his forehead" was with a woman described as "Filipino, 5 feet, 2 inches tall, wearing reading glasses, an Adidas-like track jacket and a black and white striped shirt."

It's unclear what started the altercation — if the report was in the evening, I could almost guarantee you it was over seating (it's a blood sport, you guys!), but given the early hour it's less certain.

The suspect reportedly fled the scene following the confrontation, companion in tow. He remains at large as of publication time, and no arrests have been made. Because of this lack of leads, Daly City police ask that anyone with information on the man or woman is asked to contact Detective Dolan at (650) 238-7962 or [email protected].
