The SFPD is about to hold a press conference to announce that a 10-year veteran of the force has been arrested on child porn charges. 37-year-old Joshua Enea of Antioch, who's been an SFPD officer for a decade, came under suspicion of possessing child pornography back in February, launching a subsequent investigation that led to today's arrest.

Enea was identified as a suspect by the SFPD's Internet Crimes Against Children Unit (ICAC), and the investigation yielded "sufficient evidence to obtain an arrest warrant" according to an SFPD statement.

Enea was reportedly removed from direct contact with the public during the course of the investigation, and has now been suspended without pay.

The Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office reportedly worked closely with the SFPD's Internal Affairs division on this case.

We may learn more, and see a booking photo, following the press conference.

Update: NBC Bay Area reports that Enea, who has a wife and child, was booked into SF County Jail Wednesday and released on $100,000 bail.

The SFPD issued a statement saying, "The public's trust is of the utmost importance to the members of the SFPD. The Department will continue to work hard with the community to build and maintain this trust."
