A four-story, 12-room boutique hotel is in the planning stages at 4230 18th Street between Diamond and Collingwood Streets, on the site of what is now Bite Me Sandwiches and recently the home of Bar Vero. Socketsite has word of the plans, which involve architects Cass Calder Smith and an as-yet-unidentified developer.

It's unclear, also, how much longer Bite Me Sandwiches will get to remain before this project gets underway.

Beyond the basic details about the hotel, which will occupy the upper three floors of the structure, we know there will also be an 1800-square-foot restaurant on the ground floor, and a roof deck that likely won't be open to the public, but we can dream.

This would be the only hotel in the neighborhood besides the recently remodeled Beck's Motor Lodge on Market Street.

Stay tuned for some further details.
