A UC Berkeley Department of Statistics graduation ceremony may sound like one of the most boring propositions in the Bay Area, but Thursday afternoon’s commencement got a winning dose of stardom when Miami-based music mogul and producer DJ Khaled stormed the stage and performed his notable hit “All I Do Is Win” for the graduating class of 2017. This graduating Stats class had music industry marketing executive and author Steve Stoute as their commencement speaker, but Stoute apparently pulled a few strings and got the famed record producer and TurboTax pitchman to pull a surprise musical appearance in his signature ill-fitting track suit.

Facebook video of the surprise incident can be seen above. “I ain’t graduated myself, so this is the closest thing to graduation for me,” DJ Khaled tells the tassel-turning youngsters.

DJ Khaled does kind of make a thing out of school appearances, often dropping in for unannounced performances for students in his role as the national spokesperson for stay-in-school nonprofit Get Schooled.

This surely poses a letdown for the graduating class of the UC Berkeley Computer Science Department, because all they get is Gavin Newsom at their ceremony this coming Wednesday. In even smaller potatoes, the featured speaker at this past Saturday’s main UC Berkeley commencement address was Comedy Central staple Maz Jobrani.
