The list is growing of Bay Area businesses, in particular restaurants, that are staying closed today in recognition of International Workers' Day (May Day), and marking another Day Without Immigrants — something that many already recognized back in February.

Adobe Books, Alley Cat Books, and many Mission businesses will be shuttered today, as you'll find if you're out wandering the neighborhood.

Yesterday we brought you news that all 20 restaurants in the Back of the House restaurant group, including all 10 Super Duper locations, would be closed today. Now the Chronicle and Eater have some more to add to that list, including all three locations of Souvla and Rainbow Grocery, and a number of other restaurants that are typically open seven days a week — Monday being a traditional dark night in the restaurant industry otherwise.
