For their NightLife event next week, which doubles as a fundraiser, on April 27, the Academy of Sciences is throwing a Big Bang Gala featuring none other than Big Bang Theory star and actual neuroscientist Mayim Bialik as a featured guest. At the event, which will also feature a DJ set from Hot Chip, Bialik will appear on stage in conversation with former Mythbusters host Kari Byron to talk about her science and acting careers.

Tickets are $125 (all but $30 is tax deductible), and the event will also feature open bars and complimentary bites, a silent disco, food trucks (the Chronicle notes that Señor Sisig and Grilled Cheese Bandits will be there), photo booths, and more.

Performance artist duo The Bumbys are also set to perform. And attendees are advised to "dress to impress."

Per the Academy's website, "The Big Bang Gala supports the Academy’s mission to explore, explain, and sustain life on Earth with 1.5 million visitors each year — and millions more online."
