A suspect who let out a holler before stabbing a man Sunday remains at large, police say, and was last seen running down 18th Street.

The San Francisco Police Department says that the confrontation happened at 1:15 a.m. Sunday, at the intersection of 18th and Castro Streets. According to the SFPD, the 24-year-old male victim "was walking down the street" when the suspect, a man in his 40s, "yelled out an obscenity" at him.

The yelling man then stabbed the younger fellow, then "fled eastbound on 18th."

The victim was transported to San Francisco General Hospital for treatment of injuries police say are not life-threatening. According to the SFPD, the suspect remains at large, and no arrests have been made in the case.
