Noisepop, SF's premiere indie music and arts fest, rings in 25 years this year, and in February will once again bring us eleven days of both established and up and coming music acts, as well as film and other stuff across multiple venues in SF and Oakland. The initial lineup is just out, including bigger names like Ty Segall and Vince Staples, established acts of the last two decades like Blonde Redhead and MSTRKRFT, and newcomers like Tennis and The Frights. Tickets to individual shows go on sale Friday, November 18, and festival badges ($175 - $375) are already on sale here.

The full lineup as it stands is below, with more to be added, and venues including Swedish American Hall, Great American Music Hall, The Independent, The Chapel, The Fillmore, and both Starline Social Club and the Fox Theater in Oakland. See the full schedule here.

Noisepop was born in 1993 with just five bands playing one night at The Kennel Club (now The Independent), and grew over the years to include multiple venues and nights of music, now topping out typically with well over 1000 bands, over a dozen venues, and 11 nights of music.

Street artist Shepard Fairey, who last contributed poster designs for the fest in 2000 and 2012, is back contributing graphics for this year's fest as well. See 20 years of posters and lineups here.

As SFGate notes, 2017's fest (February 17 to 27) includes a couple of former San Francisco acts like Segall and black metal group Deafheaven who have since relocated to Los Angeles.
