Gluten is probably the least of Muni's worries, but someone with a printer and a sense of humor wanted to lighten the mood on San Francisco's buses, and so be it. A series of "Muni Facts" that are about as reliable as Snapple Facts appeared in the past few weeks on buses, as Muni Diaries first spotted and City Lab now takes note.

Merry pranksters have been known to add a dash of spice to public transportation in the Bay Area before: A self-appointed BART "artist in residence" set up a swing inside a BART car this year, adding hopscotch to stations and more. Then there are more social and political statements to be made, such as a fake renaming of Fruitvale Station for Oscar Grant, who was killed there on January 1, 2009.
