Police are seeking a man in his 30s on suspicion of elder abuse Monday, following a Friday afternoon attack that sent a San Francisco pedestrian to the hospital.

It was 2:18 p.m. on a quiet residential street called Lagunitas Drive, a brief stretch of road near Stern Grove. A 65-year-old man was walking in the area, police say, when a male in his 30s approached the man and "began yelling obscenities towards" him.

According to the San Francisco Police Department, the aggressor then "charged [the victim] and began to punch [the victim] with both closed hands," knocking the victim to the sidewalk.

Police say that to protect himself, the man curled into a ball on the ground, as the suspect kicked him repeatedly.

At the conclusion of the attack, the suspect fled in an unknown direction, police say. The victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment of his injuries, which police say are not life-threatening.

As of Monday, police say that the suspect remains at large. Officers are seeking him on suspicion of aggravated assault and elder abuse, according to the SFPD. Anyone with any information on this crime is urged to call SFPD's anonymous tip line at at 415-575-4444 or to text a tip to TIP411 with SFPD at the beginning of the message.
