A San Francisco Police Department Special Investigations Team is searching for suspects Monday, after a 13-year-old boy was shot Sunday night in the Mission District.

SFPD spokesperson Sergeant Michael Andraychak says the shooting was reported at 6:35 p.m. Sunday at the intersection of 26th and Valencia Streets.

"A 13 year old male was shot and transported [to the hospital] with non-life threatening injuries," Andraychak says. ABC 7 reports that witnesses describe the shooter only as "a man," and say that "officers focused their search on the parking garage at Saint Luke's Hospital," which is just south of where the boy was shot.

Andraychak could not confirm those details, however, saying only that that no arrests have been made, nor was any suspect information or additional information available in the case.

The shooting is being investigated by SFPD"s Mission Station Special Investigations Team, Andraychak says, and SFPD's Gang Task Force has been notified. As always, if you have any information on the shooting, Andraychak asks that you call SFPD's anonymous tip line at 415-575-4444 or text a tip to TIP411 and begin the message with SFPD.
