A man who police say was illegally traversing Bayshore Boulevard was injured Tuesday, struck by a driver as he attempted to cross the street.

According to the San Francisco Police Department, the collision occurred at 7:40 p.m. Tuesday, when the 22-year-old pedestrian "attempted to cross Bayshore" Boulevard near its intersection with Silver Avenue.

The pedestrian, who police say was walking "outside of the crosswalk," was struck by a 54-year-old woman as she drove south on Bayshore.

The man received injuries to the face and hip as a result of the collision. He was transported to San Francisco General Hospital in stable condition, according to the SFPD.

The driver remained at the scene and was cooperative with investigators, police say. As of Wednesday morning, neither the driver nor the pedestrian had been cited in the incident.
