A man was carjacked Tuesday evening while he sat at a red light near wearable tech company Fitbit's San Francisco offices. According to KRON 4, this all went down early last night, and the suspect was able to make a clean getaway.

The unnamed 42-year-old victim was waiting for the light to change in his red four-door BMW 325i at the intersection of Howard and Fremont around 8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening when an uninvited guest opened the passenger door and hopped in the car. Unfortunately for the driver, this was not a simple case of mistaken Uber. Rather, according to police, the man kept his hand in his pocket in a manner that approximated a gun and told the driver to drive through the intersection and then get out of the car.

The driver complied, and shortly after exiting his car the thief slid over to the driver's side and sped off.

The channel notes that BMW owner was not injured, and that no gun was actually seen.

This all happened in broad daylight, before sunset. Pro tip, drivers: Lock your doors!

Police have not made any arrests, and anyone with information is urged to call an anonymous tip line at 415-575-4444. The suspect is described as a man in his 40s.
