A day after hit-and-run drivers killed two cyclists in San Francisco, yet another driver has hit a pedestrian then attempted to evade the consequences.
Details on the collision are scarce, but here's what we do know: At 10:40 Thursday night, the driver of a 2015 Chevy sedan struck a 51-year-old man as he crossed the street at the intersection of Stockton and Green Streets.
The "vehicle fled [the] scene," according to the SFPD report, presumably with a driver behind the wheel. Somehow, the 26-year-old driver was tracked down and arrested, police say.
The victim was transported to an area hospital in "serious" condition, according to police.
When reached by phone, an SFPD spokesperson did not have any additional details on either the suspect or the collision. A follow-up email sent to police this morning was not returned as of publication time.
