Watch out, San Francisco, the Asian Art Museum has a sumptuous summer ahead. Travel through 800 years of Chinese history and enter the elegant and exclusive realm of the imperial court in Emperors' Treasures: Chinese Art from the National Palace Museum, Taipei, on view from June 17 - September 18. #EmperorsTreasures showcases 150 exquisite objects, including the world-famous "Meat-shaped stone," one of the rare Chinese imperial artworks making its U.S. debut. This Qing dynasty carving fashioned to look like a slab of pork belly, or dongpo rou, has even caught the eye of noted chef, Anthony Bourdain who, upon seeing the sculpture at the National Palace Museum in Taipei, called it "the pork of my dreams."

In honor of its U.S. debut, you're invited to see, eat and make this #PricelessPorkBelly. 12 San Francisco chefs, including Brandon Jew of Mister Jiu's, Danny Bowien of Mission Chinese, and Michelle Mah of The Slanted Door, have created signature pork belly dishes inspired by this celebrated work of art. Each tribute will be served in their restaurants for four weeks only (June 17 through July 17). For tickets and details, visit www.asianart.org/emperorstreasures.
