Some of you may have caught Mac Sabbath when they performed at the GastroMagic stage at Outside Lands last year, and you already understand that they're a weird and funny amalgam of KISS, Weird Al Yankovic, Black Sabbath, and the McDonald's mascots of yesteryear, all filtered through an acid nightmare. If you haven't heard of them or seen them and that sounds right up your twisted alley, you should head on down to Slim's (333 11th Street) on Sunday to see them live. The show starts at 8 p.m., but there are two openers, and $18 pre-sale tickets can be found here.
They don't exactly *cover* Black Sabbath so much as they satirize them through the lens of fast food, if that makes any sense at all. The video above can serve as example: It's their parody song "Frying Pan" set to the tune of "Iron Man," containing the lyric, "Sorry I burned your meal / my first job was cooking veal / now it's a culinary crime / all our future is pink slime."
Anyway, they're from LA.
