A man is fighting for his life this morning, after he was found bleeding out last night on a Mission District sidewalk.

It was 11:16 Thursday evening when the resident at a home on the 1000 block of Hampshire Street, which is between 22nd and 23rd Streets near San Francisco General Hospital called 911 to report that a man was "laying on the sidewalk bleeding," police say.

When officers from the San Francisco Police Department arrived, they found a 21-year-old man suffering from "stab wounds to torso."

He was transported to SF General for treatment of his injuries, which the SFPD describes as "life-threatening."

As of Friday morning, police say, they do not have any information on the circumstances behind the stabbing, nor do they have any details on possible suspects in the attack.
