Investigators with the Santa Clara County Sheriff's Office are at Apple's Cupertino headquarters this morning after a body was discovered on campus. Details are scant, but NBC Bay Area is reporting that Sheriff's Office spokesperson Sergeant Andrea Urina confirmed the presence of a body but gave out no further information.

SFist has reached out to the Santa Clara County Sheriff's Office and will update when we have more details.

While it should be taken with a massive grain of salt, TMZ is reporting that a law enforcement source told them "the call came in to dispatch at 8:38 AM as a 'possible suicide'" and that the body was found in a conference room.

Update: The Mercury News is now reporting that the individual was found with a "head wound." TMZ reports that "there was a female employee involved in an argument on the campus, and had sustained a head wound — possibly from a gun — before Apple security escorted her out of the building."

A reporter with ABC 7 tweeted out that a gun was found nearby the male victim, and officials now confirm the deceased was an Apple employee.

Second Update: Despite earlier reports that there may have been a woman involved, Sergeant Andrea Urena of the Santa Clara County Sheriff's Office confirmed that this was an "isolated incident" only involving the one male victim.

"They found one individual male down and that he was deceased," Urena told The Mercury News. "Through further investigation they determined that there were no other individuals involved and they believe it was an isolated incident, and that there's nobody else on the campus or in the public that is at risk."

Third Update: The full statement provided to SFist by Sergeant Andrea Urena confirms much of what we already knew, but does not reveal the cause.

On 4/27/16 at about 8:38 am, deputies were dispatched to a call of a person down, at 1 Infinite Loop in the city of Cupertino. When deputies arrived they found a male subject down and determined he was deceased. After further investigation it appeared there was no foul play and no other individuals were involved. This appeared to be an isolated incident and no employees or members of the public are at risk.

This is now a coroner’s case and it will be up to the coroner to determine the cause and manner of death. This is an ongoing investigation and we cannot release any further details at this time.

If someone you know exhibits warning signs of suicide: do not leave the person alone; remove any firearms, alcohol, drugs or sharp objects that could be used in a suicide attempt; and call the U.S. National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 800-273-TALK (8255) or take the person to an emergency room or seek help from a medical or mental health professional.
