A San Francisco taxi driver had his Monday night take a pretty crazy turn, after a fare pulled a gun on him and commandeered the cab.

It was 9:20 p.m. Monday when the 64-year-old male cab driver picked up a fare at Sacramento and Drumm Streets. But this was no ordinary passenger: This guy, described by the San Francisco Police Department only as a man between 55-60 years of age, pulled out a handgun and demanded to be taken to Oakland.

The taxi driver complied, and across the Bay Bridge they went, gun and all. Once in Oakland, police say that the kidnapper insisted on being taken to Castro and 22nd Streets. He then then robbed the driver of the cash he was carrying, as well as his cell phone, then took off on foot.

The driver was uninjured, and the suspect hasn't been seen since. Needless to say, no arrests have been made, nor did SFPD have any additional information at publication time.

As always, if you know anything about this incident, please do spill the beans to SFPD anonymously at 415-575-4444 or text-a-tip to TIP411 and begin the text with "SFPD."
