The California Highway Patrol has identified the woman who reportedly leapt from the Bay Bridge at 2 a.m. Wednesday after crashing a car in the eastbound deck.

The CHP says that 25-year-old Erlynn Kay Sanchez-Edwards, whose last known address was in Richmond, was driving a 2014 Nissan Maxima that had been stolen in LA when officers saw her "spinning out in the eastbound lanes and turned around at Treasure Island to investigate," Bay City News reports.

When they got back to the scene, they saw the car sitting in the road, and three women in the bike path. As officers approached, one of them, since identified as Sanchez-Edwards, climbed the rail of the bridge, but “as the officer was about 50 yards away, she began to slip and fall,” CHP Sgt. Reginald Gayles said at the time.

CHP, fire crews and the United States Coast Guard all searched the water beneath the bridge in an effort to rescue or retrieve Sanchez-Edwards, but they couldn't find a trace of the fallen woman. By 6 a.m., however, motorists had reported seeing a "soaking wet" woman trying to flag down a ride in the area.

Later that day, reports KTVU, a dump truck driver told the CHP he'd picked a wet woman matching Sanchez-Edwards' description up, and dropped her off in San Francisco near Fremont and Folsom streets.

Though the two women who were allegedly with Sanchez-Edwards at the time of the crash couldn't offer much insight — they claim they were only acquaintances of hers — CHP says that she left her ID behind, which made it easier to figure out who she was.

According to the CHP, she's wanted for questioning for vehicle theft, hit and run and resisting arrest. If you know where she is, or have any other information on the case, give CHP a ring at 415-557-1094
