Big news over in the Mission, where we've known that longtime stalwart Luna Park (694 Valencia Street) has been up for grabs for months now: It's being sold to Mission Beach Cafe owner Bill Clarke. As Inside Scoop reports, via a pending liquor license transfer, Clarke may have plans to open something called Thin Place — a bit of an odd name — but that's just the DBA.

SFist is reaching out for some clarification from Clarke on his plans, which may be to do more Mission Beach Cafe-style food with the addition of a cocktail program, or it may be something wholly different.

In the meantime, Luna Park remains open as usual, and transfers like these can take a couple of months.

As you may recall, AJ Gilbert, Luna Park's owner, was griping about the minimum wage hike last year, and initially had a deal to sell to the PlumpJack Group, who ended up backing out, perhaps because they preferred to buy the nearby Lexington Club.
