LOCAL FILM PREVIEW: The Last Black Man in San Francisco, which you can get a taste of here, looks like a really interesting historically-based film from Joe Talbot starring Jimmie Fails as a version of himself. Tonight there's a meet-and-greet and a photo exhibit, plus a $10 prix fixe menu at Radio Africa & Kitchen for Community Tuesdays as well as $5 beer and wine. PLAY PREVIEW: John Kolvenbach (Goldfish, Mrs. Whitney), in collaboration with Harbor Stage Company returns to Magic Theatre, a company founded in 1967 and named for the scene in Herman Hesse’s novel, Steppenwolf, where an invitation is extended for an “Anarchist Evening at the Magic Theatre / For Madmen Only / Price of Admission Your Mind.” The play, which previews tonight, is called Sister Play and it's a family comedy set in a Cape Cod cabin. WEDNESDAY, APRIL 1

BOOK SALE: ($2-3) Books, ($1) DVDs, CDs, and books on tape! Get 'em all on the cheap thanks to the forces of digitization and the SF Public Library system at Fort Mason during the Friends of the San Francisco Library Spring Book Sale. Expect over 250,000 items including vinyl for you hipsters. PARADE: From the First Church of the Last Laugh comes a day of irreligious revelry: Saint Stupid Day. It's April Fools day, everybody! The congregation "convenes for its one whole-y day each year at the EMBARCADERO PLAZA, WEDNESDAY, APRIL 1TH, NOON, rain and/or shine. Bring socks for the sock exchange, pennies for the banker's heart, dead lottery tickets for the Federal Reserve, noise/music makers for the exorcism and a well dressed sense of absurdity.
