For your little afternoon break, please appreciate James Garner acting his ass off in this brief scene from The Americanization of Emily (1964), also starring Julie Andrews. He delivers a monologue about war and warmongering that's still prescient today in a film written by Oscar-winning screenwriter by Paddy Chayefsky (Marty, Network). The movie, according to both Garner and Andrews, was one of the personal favorites of both of their careers.

Garner died Sunday at home in L.A. He was 86.
