This week's blustery winds are giving way to some more much-needed rain, and possible thunderstorms, tonight into tomorrow. We're looking at a pretty decent chance of some showers late tonight, which are going to give way to some more of that rare thunder and lightning come Friday morning. Time to bust out that rain gear again and count on some Uber surge pricing.

Accuweather has the thunder coming in first, possibly, around 10 a.m., with more in the afternoon between 1 and 3 p.m.

This would be the time for armchair photographers to get their equipment ready and stake out a prime spot for catching lightning strikes, of course these are always less awesome and dramatic when they're not at night.

The rain tonight may not start until you're tucked into bed, assuming you are not a nightlife persona or planning to attend to the 10th anniversary of DJ Bus Station John's underground disco party Tubesteak Conexxxion at Aunt Charlie's tonight. (Things don't usually get rolling there 'til after 11 or so, but the music's generally pretty fantastic — as he puts it, "the synthesized sounds of a forgotten era: late 70s/ early 80s gay bar & bathhouse hi-NRG, Eurodisco, NYC no-wave, disco rarities and more.")

And no need to water those plants on the patio today.
