If you see cops, TSA agents, and other law enforcement officers scrambling during your morning commute Friday, don't worry, it's (probably) not a disaster.

According to BART spokesperson Luna Salaver, on Friday morning, BART cops, TSA officers, and Bay Area, state and federal law enforcement officers will be working with other local transit agencies to conduct joint security training exercises at several area BART stations.

Salaver says that the training events shouldn't have any impact on BART service, but that they wanted to let us know about the exercise, "so people will not be alarmed."

Possibly alarming things you might see on Friday include: officers appearing to respond to training incidents, uniformed officers and police canine units accessing station areas, and emergency vehicles parked near stations or in BART parking lots.

"The purpose of the training is to prepare for possible future emergencies," Salaver says. You can expect to see the action go down from 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM Friday at the SFO, Embarcadero, West Oakland and Coliseum BART stations.
