Friday marked the kickoff of S.F. Beer Week, and things really kick into gear today and through the weekend with special tap takeover events, beer dinners, and mini-festivals throughout the Bay Area. It's a beer geek's heaven, basically, with tons of breweries from near and far showcasing their best and limited-edition stuff. You can find the entire interactive schedule here, where you'll see just how many things are going on each day.

A Nice Little Tuesday at Cellarmaker
Head over to San Francisco's newest microbrewery in SoMa for a day of sausage and fine brews in which they put all 12 of the taps in their taproom to work for the first time. Check out their Southern Passion IPA made entirely from South African hops, their Original Dankster IPA, and their sour saison called Jezebel. Also there'll be plenty of sausage all day.
3 p.m. to 11 p.m., February 11. 1150 Howard Street

Dogfish Head Tap Takeover at Blackbird
Delaware-based Dogfish Head Craft Brewery brings seven of their best beers for the tasting starting at 3 p.m. Look for their famed 61 Minute IPA and 90 Minute IPA (as well as the delicious 75 Minute IPA available for bottle pours), as well as a brewer's cellar release of the 2011 Burton Baton.
3 p.m. until kegs run out, with hot dogs from 7 to 10 p.m., February 12. 2124 Market Street

An Evening With Russian River Brewing Company at Pi Bar
You can expect a throng of beer nerds to descend on the Mission's Pi Bar on Wednesday for tastes of the much sought-after, limited edition, barrel-aged Pliny the Younger from Russian River Brewing. They'll also likely be pouring their Beatification and several other beers, and there'll be pizza all night.
3 p.m. to midnight, February 12. 1432 Valencia Street

7-Day Beer Tasting at Cervezeria de MateVeza
This is sort of cool: The Dolores Park-adjacent Cervezeria de MateVeza has a new 20-gallon nano-brewing system, and they just started a batch of beer last Saturday that they'll be pouring just seven days later. As they put it, "This beer will live its entire life during SF Beer Week."
Noon to 4 p.m., February 15. 3801 18th Street

Barleywine Festival at Toronado
Once again, the taps at the Lower Haight's favorite beer bar will be taken over with a lot of high ABV barleywines from dozens of breweries, and the festival goes on for as many days as the kegs last. But everything starts at 11:30(ish) on Saturday, and this is always a popular event. But if you start on barleywine that early, godspeed. You will need a nap long before sundown.
11:30 a.m. to 2 a.m. February 15 and 16. 547 Haight Street
