It's that time of year, when the foodie industry fills the aisles at Moscone Center for the Fancy Food Show. Hot trends include an array of jerkies for Paleo dieters, previously obscure grains hitting the mainstream (freekeh and einkorn and spelt, oh my), and those infant-friendly juice pouches being pitched to older and older kids (can you say hipster baby bottle?). Even that old stand-by, fancy popcorn, seems to be resurgent.

Other items that caught my eye included gourmet ramen (to make those post-collegiate poverty years more special), umami paste, and seaweed in more form factors than we ever imagined possible.

The show continues through Tuesday, or just check out your local Safeway and Whole Foods in the next few months. Lots more pictures here.
