Despite clear video evidence, 23-year-old Barry White Jr. of Antioch, the man accused of brutally murdering two employees and firing on police officers at the San Francisco GiftCenter & JewelryMart last month, pled not guilty to 16 felony counts yesterday.

White is currently being held without bail until his next status hearing on September 24th and has been charged with two counts of murder, seven counts of attempted murder, six counts of assault on a police officer with a firearm and one count of possession of an assault rifle.

Just days after the July 12th incident that started inside the Victoga Inc. jewelry store, prosecutors from the District Attorney's office said White could be clearly seen on high-quality security footage shooting store owner Vic Hung, shooting and nearly decapitating 51-year-old employee Lina Lim and slitting the throat of 35-year-old employee Khin Min. DA Gascon called the murders, "on of the most calculating, brutal homicides" he had ever seen.

After leaving the store, White repeatedly fired his revolver at officers responding to the scene. He surrendered after he ran out of ammo, but a loaded AK-47 was also found in his car parked nearby.

White's public defender told reporters last week that his client might have suffered a serious mental breakdown. The dispute that set off the incident was reportedly over $300 worth of precious metals in a piece of jewelry White had bought at the store weeks before. White was also charged with assault with a deadly weapon and resisting arrest at age 19 when he tried to run down a police officer with his car.
