Monday morning around 11 a.m. an 82-year-old woman was attacked by a young, 20-something female suspect who was stepping off the bus at Mission and 24th Streets. According to a parking control officer who witnessed the incident, the suspect reacted extremely poorly when the elderly woman tried to board the bus before she could step off.

Instead of offering a seat at the front of the bus (reserved for seniors and those with disabilities) like a reasonable human being, the suspect started arguing, "punched the victim multiple times," and knocked the woman to the ground, causing her to hit her head on the pavement. The victim had to be taken to the hospital to be treated for her injuries, which were thankfully not life-threatening.

The suspect fled the scene and is described only as a woman in her late 20s, wearing grey clothes. SFPD is on the case, reviewing the security footage from the Muni bus. The extremely rude passenger is facing charges of elder abuse and battery, so her image to be distributed through your preferred social media channels so the cops can bring this extreme Muni etiquette faux pas to justice.

Anyone who may have seen anything is, of course, encouraged to call SFPD's tipline at (415) 575-4444 or via text message to TIP411 with "SFPD" in the text.
