A 29-year-old woman was found shot dead outside a small corner store at 12th and Peralta Streets in West Oakland around 10:30 a.m. this morning. Although details are scarce at the moment, a crowd has gathered at the scene where a witness claims the victim was repeatedly shot in the face. The suspect was last spotted running away before driving off in a late 90s Toyota.

The victim's name has not yet been released, but she was apparently known throughout the local community who gathered in from of Joe's Meats Family Market to grieve this morning. According to sources, her family has lost two others to recent violence in Oakland:

According to the Oakland Tribune, police have not yet established a motive and the suspect is still at large. He is described as a black man in his 20s, with a black beanie, black jacket and light-gray pants. His vehicle is described as a gold or silver late 1990s Toyota.

Oakland Police and Crime Stoppers are offering a $10,000 reward for any information leading to the successful arrest of the woman's killer. Anyone with information should call OPD at 510-238-3821 or the tip line at 510-773-2805.
