Like clockwork, noted comedian Dave Chappelle has announced his latest bi-annual "surprise" shows at the Independent on Monday, March 25th. And tickets go on sale, like right this second.

As is Chappelle tradition at this point, the show was announced to the Independent's email list about 30 minutes before tickets go onsale at Noon today. Only two shows have been announced at this point: an early and late show on Monday, March 25th. It seems unlikely that extra nights will be added this time around, as the Independent has a packed lineup next week.

Half-Baked fans and standup nerds who haven't been able to see Chappelle during one of this two- or three-night residencies at the music venue on Divisadero should know these tickets will sell out extremely fast. Previous events have sold out in minutes, and basically: we're not holding our breath to get through the TicketFly checkout system too quickly.

As of about 11:45 a.m. this morning, two people were already lined up outside the Independent's box office. At least one of them was wearing cargo shorts and flip-flops.

Update, 12:10 p.m.: It looks like tickets may have instantly sold out. Which is odd. Anyhow, we're told there's a chance for tickets if you have time to waste on your Friday and can keep obsessively refreshing the page. A few guys who showed up early apparently had luck at the box office, but people arriving late are walking away empty handed.

Update 12:30 p.m. And now they're on StubHub for $175 - $225 per ticket with about 25 available for each show. Good luck with that!
