Eight people — six adults and two 15-year-olds — were arrested in Emeryville last week during an undercover sting operation designed to crack down on the underage prostitution. The Alameda County Vice Enforcement team conducted the operation at a hotel in Emeryville where the prostitution ring was known to conduct business.

With assistance from 11 local, state and federal agencies, as well as counselors from Bay Area Women Against Rape, the vice squad nabbed the six adult suspects and two underage arrestees over a six-hour period at the hotel. The two 15-year-olds were taken into custody for counseling and medical services, KTVU reports.

The three male and three female suspects hail from around the Bay Area and range in age from 18 to 33. They were arrested on wealth of prostitution-related charges including: suspicion of felony pimping, pandering, solicitation of prostitution, suspicion of aiding or transporting a prostitute and loitering with the intent to prostitute.
