Check out this recently surfaced color film, a home movie from the Prelinger Archive, shot from a United Airlines plane circling and landing at SFO in 1941. It has some lovely shots of the then four-year-old Golden Gate Bridge with hardly any cars on it, Golden Gate Park, the Sunset, and a pre-freeway Embarcadero, all from the air on a perfectly clear day.

Then at 3:20 you get to see a flight attendant and the pilot stepping out of the plane in their vintage uniforms, and the tiny airfield, such as it was.
