Mikes on Bikes — a delightful response to the SF Gay Pride Parade's Dykes on Bikes, wherein (typically) local queer cyclists take to their bikes just after said lesbians jumpstart the festivities — won't be happening this year. And that's too bad. Bus Station John (noted DJ and one of the ringleaders behind MoB) explained via written statement, "[A]fter 15 great rides, Mikes on Bikes will be taking a brake, er, break this year."

Alas. But if you still want to pedal your way up Market Street during the Parade, you do have other options: AIDS Lifecycle, SF bike messengers, and... gay Mission cyclists who eschew deodorant? Is that a thing? It really should be a thing. Make it a thing by filling out a parade contingent application.
