ART: As part of FAX, an evolving exhibition from the Independent Curators International that began in New York in 2009, 22 Bay Area artists were invited to reconceive the fax machine as a thinking and drawing tool, in which they transmitted their fax-based work to the San Francisco Arts Commission Gallery via their working fax lines. BOOKS: The Booksmith presents Get Lit, its first-ever Booze-themed Bookswap, "dedicated to a writer's best friend: Alcohol. Hemingway, Greene, Wallace, Poe, Parker, Faulkner... all the greats were looking through a glass, so let's raise one to them," featuring special guest Dinah Sanders, author of Discardia, about how to make room for "awesomeness" in your life.
