2012's Wave of Knife Crime continued apace this weekend, when a 22-year-old victim was stabbed while waiting with his girlfriend at a Muni stop in the Excelsior. The pair were approached by a suspect at Mission Street and Brazil Avenue around 9:15 p.m. Saturday night. When the suspect asked the male victim if he was in a gang, the victim replied that he was not, only to be stabbed in the torso.

The victim's knife wounds were considered to be life threatening and he was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment. The suspect, on the other hand, fled on foot and had not yet been picked up by the cops as of this morning. Other than believing their guys is a male in his late teens, the police don't seem to have much of a description. Still, anyone with any information in the knifing is encouraged to call SFPD's anonymous tipline at (415) 575-4444 or via text message to TIP411.
