THEATER: Piano Fight takes a break from the comedy with their production of the first full-length play by Scott Herman, Octopus’s Garden, which tells the story of of two moms and an 8-year-old daughter named Anna, living the American dream of domestic normalcy, until the arrival of Anna’s absentee biological father forces them to examine the necessary yet difficult decisions made when starting a family on your own terms. FILM: Tonight's Other Cinema screening presents John Smalley's lecture-demo, John Cage and the Spirit of Dada, which examines Cage in relation to collage and experimental techniques pioneered by the Dadaists and Constructivists, and John Roy on Partch, featuring an appearance by Roy himself, as he introduces his in-progress work, Bitter Music, about beloved “hobohemian,” Harry Partch.
